Serena Williams won the match in just 58minutes defeating third seed Dinara Safina 6-0, 6-3, in Australia Open. Serena Dominated the Match from the Beginning.

Williams, who was bidding for her fourth Australian Open title after victories in 2003, 2005 and 2007.

Safina, who was playing in just her second Grand Slam final after finishing runner-up.

Williams sister also won Australian open doubles.

In junior womens 15 year old British fifth seed Laura Robson reached the final of the junior Australian Open, beating top seed Noppawan Lertcheewakarn of Thailand 6-4 6-3.

Rafael Nadal faces Fernando Verdasco | Federer in Final | Australian Open

Roger Federer advanced to the final of the Australian Open, In the Mean time Rafael Nadal faces Fernando Verdasco for the birth in Final to Face Roger Federer.

Federer, now in his 18th Grand Slam final, has not lost any of his three previous Australian Open title matches and continues his unbeaten record against Roddick.

After beating Andy Roddick 6-2 7-5 7-5 Federer said "Andy's been playing really well so I knew I had a tough match ahead of me".

Nadal is the Favourite in Semi and will face Roger Federer in Final.

"People sort of forgot about him leading up to the Australian Open," Federer said of Nadal.

"But he's showing why he's the best player in the world. I would love to play him in the final, that's for sure."

After defeating Elena Dementieva 6-3, 6-4 Serena Said "I am just really excited to be in the final, I don't care who I play," Williams said in a courtside interview. "I am just so happy to get this far all my work has paid off."

fourth seed Elena Dementieva said Serena played really well today. I was maybe not aggressive enough and maybe I was playing not deep enough, which allowed her to be very aggressive and dictate the game.

Roger Federer Reach the Australian Open semi-finals and just away with two wins of a record-equalling 14th Grand Slam title.

Roger Federer destroyed the 20year old world number six to make his 19th consecutive Grand Slam semi, where he will meet old rival Andy Roddick.

After beating Juan Martin 6-3 6-0 6-0 Roger Federer said I didn't expect a result like this. This is not usual "I don't think Juan Martin was at his very best tonight, otherwise it would have been much closer."

Federer will be aiming for his 16th win against Roddick in the semi-finals

Defending champion Novak Djokovic is out of the Austalian Open, he was forced to Retire due to heat in the fourth set against Andy Roddick.

Temperature reaching above 40 degrees on court, Djokovic began to wilt. The third-seeded Djokovic then walked off court, consulted the doctor and told chair umpire Carlos Ramos of Portugal "no more", and he went to congratulate Roddick.

Vera Zvonareva of Russia Beat Marion Bartoli of France 6-3 6-0 in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open to reach her first grand slam semi-final.

After wining the match Vera said "I don't know what happened Marion was playing really well in the beginning and I made a few unforced errors, so that's why I think I was down 3-1."

24-year-old further said that "Then I was able to cut down on my unforced errors and I was able to keep a good level of play throughout the whole match."I'm pretty confident in myself. If I'm in the tournament, I'm here to try to win it," she said.

"I think I played very good tennis. I think Marion's been playing very good as well, but I was able to play a very clean match today. That's what made the difference."

In another Match Laura Robson moved into the third round of the Australian Open girls' singles with a 6-3 7-6 (7/0) win against Thailand's Kanyapat Narattana.

Robson will now face Croatia's Silvia Njiric for a place in the last-eight.

Fellow Briton Heather Watson also won, beating South African Chanel Simmonds 6-2 6-1.

Britain's Laura Robson booked her place in the second round of the Australian Open girls singles with a straight sets win.

After beating Austria's Juergen Melzer 7-5 6-0 6-3, Murray Said "I thought I hit the ball really, really well, I took a lot of my chances. I made him do a lot of running and was very confident from the second set onwards."

The 21year old further said "I just felt more confident going into the match, I knew if I played well I felt like I could go on to win in three sets if I grabbed the first set."

Serena Williams easily move to fourth Round by beating China's Peng Shuai by 6-1, 6-4.

World Number no.1 Rafal Nadal Marches in Third Round by by crushing Croatia's Roko Karanusic 6-2 6-3 6-2.


Nadal, will face Tommy Haas of Germany in the third round on Saturday, Nadal faced Tommy Haas in last year semi-finals.

In another match Frenchman Gilles Simon booked his place in the third round with a 6-7 6-4 6-1 6-2 win over Chris Guccione.
