This is Nadal 5th consecutive Barcelona Open title, Top seed Nadal, who also beat Ferrer in last year's final.
Nadal said winning the Barcelona "This is much more than a dream for me," I never could have imagined I'd be here winning for a fifth time,
He also holds the Australian Open and Wimbledon titles and now heads to the Rome Masters where he will bid for a fourth triumph.

It was Nadal"s fifth consecutive win at Monte Carlo, Nadal now equalled Roger Federer's mark of 14 tournament wins in the Masters Series.
It was very tense final, Nadal racing to a 2-0 lead and, despite incessant battling from his Djokovic, the Spaniard closed the match out 6-1.
The victory represents the perfect start to the clay-court season for Nadal.
Nadal Vs Djokovic in Monte Carlo final
Nadal's fifth consecutive Monte Carlo Masters finals Nadal defeated Andy Murray 6-2 7-6(4).
Nadal, who is now unbeaten in 26 matches on the Monte Carlo clay, Nadal said about World Number 3 Djokovic "I think he's playing well," he added about Djokovic. "He is having a very good tournament. Sure, I have to play my best tennis if I want to have chances to win. So I'm going to try to play aggressive and try my best.
he further added "I know it's going to be tough, but I expect to play like today or a little bit better."
From the previous record Nadal was just lost the match way back in 2005. Roger federer, World Number 3 Djokovic have to do alot of hardwork to beat the world Number 1 Nadal.

World number three Novak Djokovic already reached final of the Monto Carlo, Djokovic defeat 13th seed Stanislas Wawrinka by 4-6 6-1 6-3.
After Defeating Stanislas Wawrinka, Djokovic said "This is my first final at Monte Carlo".
Djokovic will face Nadal or Murray in the Final of Monto Carlo
Sania Mirza
Now Sania will face World Number 2 Venus Williams.
Top-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva and Vera Zvonareva also moved to Third Round.
Fourth seed Nadia Petrova beat Austrian Patricia Mayr 6-1 2-6 6-2.
Sixth seed Marion Bartoli defeated Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia 6-1 6-3 and seventh seed Dominika Cibulkova defeated Austrian Tamira Paszek 6-4 6-0.
Andrew Murray
After Defeating Victor Murray stated "It takes time to adjust. I never played that well on clay, especially in the last couple of years,"
Murray further added I played solid and he made some mistakes. I am happy with the way I played given that it was my first match on clay this season."
Murray will next face either 14th seed Marin Cilic or Italian qualifier Fabio Fognini, who defeated Tomas Berdych 1-6 6-3 6-3.

In other match injury hampered Williams fell 6-4 3-6 6-1 to Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic in their first-round match.
Williams still not recovered from the injury which affected her performance in Miami last week and was broken seven times by Zakopalova.

Andy Murry is confident on taking Djokovic as Andy Murry reached final while beat Juan Martin del Potro by 6-1 5-7 6-2, who had knocked out Nadal in the last eight.
Andy Murry is confident he knows how to beat Novak Djokovic, Murry added "I'm not going to put any extra pressure on myself for the match on Sunday."
Last week Murry reached the INDIAN WELLS final but lost to Rafael Nadal, but this time he don't want to be at the losing side.
Azarenka
Williams, heavily strapped on her left-thigh, never looked fully mobile and was comfortably beaten in 71 minutes.
19year old Belarussian who held her composure to close out the match despite the American battling valiantly, albeit in spite of her restricted movement.
For 11th Seed the second set was a relative easy, who broke in the fourth game, winning the final five to seal a convincing victory
Serena Vs Azarenka
Serena defeated her sister Venus to reach Miami Final by three-set 6-4 3-6 6-3. Last time the two sisters in the Australia open.
Serena stated after the win "She played me really, really tough in Australia, and She was not feeling great, but I thought she did a pretty good job."
Serena claimed her 10th Grand slam title at the Australian Open in January.
Azarenka reached Miami final by defeating Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3 2-6 7-5. After defeating she said "All the work I have been doing is paying off. I was just trying to play every point from the beginning to the end,"
Azarenka and Serena last met in the Australian OPen Quarter final were Azarenka retired with a stomach ailment while leading 6-3 2-4.
Roger Federer
Roger Federer will now face Novak Djokovic in the Semi Final.
There is always room to improve and Federer showed how he has improved Day by Day take on other world Champions.
Roger Federer Confidence will be high while he faces Djokovic in the Finals.

World No.1 Nadal beat Stanislas Wawrinka by 7-6(2) 7-6(4) at the Miami Masters, Nadal will face Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro, a 6-3 6-2 victor over Spain's David Ferrer.

Third-seed Novak Djokovic also advanced with a routine 6-3 6-2 win over Czech Tomas Berdych.
Second seed Roger Federer won comfortable 6-3 6-2 win over American qualifier Taylor Dent.
