It was very tense final, Nadal racing to a 2-0 lead and, despite incessant battling from his Djokovic, the Spaniard closed the match out 6-1.
The victory represents the perfect start to the clay-court season for Nadal.

Nadal's fifth consecutive Monte Carlo Masters finals Nadal defeated Andy Murray 6-2 7-6(4).
Nadal, who is now unbeaten in 26 matches on the Monte Carlo clay, Nadal said about World Number 3 Djokovic "I think he's playing well," he added about Djokovic. "He is having a very good tournament. Sure, I have to play my best tennis if I want to have chances to win. So I'm going to try to play aggressive and try my best.
he further added "I know it's going to be tough, but I expect to play like today or a little bit better."
From the previous record Nadal was just lost the match way back in 2005. Roger federer, World Number 3 Djokovic have to do alot of hardwork to beat the world Number 1 Nadal.

World number three Novak Djokovic already reached final of the Monto Carlo, Djokovic defeat 13th seed Stanislas Wawrinka by 4-6 6-1 6-3.
After Defeating Stanislas Wawrinka, Djokovic said "This is my first final at Monte Carlo".

Now Sania will face World Number 2 Venus Williams.
Top-seeded Russian Elena Dementieva and Vera Zvonareva also moved to Third Round.
Fourth seed Nadia Petrova beat Austrian Patricia Mayr 6-1 2-6 6-2.
Sixth seed Marion Bartoli defeated Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia 6-1 6-3 and seventh seed Dominika Cibulkova defeated Austrian Tamira Paszek 6-4 6-0.

After Defeating Victor Murray stated "It takes time to adjust. I never played that well on clay, especially in the last couple of years,"
Murray further added I played solid and he made some mistakes. I am happy with the way I played given that it was my first match on clay this season."
Murray will next face either 14th seed Marin Cilic or Italian qualifier Fabio Fognini, who defeated Tomas Berdych 1-6 6-3 6-3.
