World Number two Roger Federer defeated local hero Gael Monfils with straight sets 7-6 6-2 6-4. Roger Federer will face Juan Martin Del Potro in the French Open Semi Final.

After the win Federer said "I was very nervous before this match, yesterday and today,But I have a lot of experience. I know that when I step on the court, I will play well. Or very well."

Federer, who is chasing a record-equalling 14th Grand Slam crown, snatched the decisive break in the ninth game when the Frenchman netted a forehand.

Juan Martin Del Potro is also in good form he defeated Spanish 16th seed Tommy Robredo by 6-3 6-4 6-2.
